Contract Law: Postal acceptance rule

If an acceptance is communicated by post, the posted acceptance takes effect as soon as the letter is posted: Adams v Lindsell (1818). However, the post must be a permitted method of acceptance, otherwise the acceptance by post will not be valid – Quenerduaine v Cole (1883).
