Contract Law: Revocation

August 13, 2023

An offer can be revoked at any point before a legally binding contract has been concluded by a valid acceptance: Routledge v Grant (1828). A revocation must be effectively communicated to revoke the offer: Byrne v Van Tienhoven (1880). The method by which a revocation should occur depends on whether there is a unilateral or bilateral offer.
