Criminal Law: Conduct vs. Result Crimes

Conduct crimes focus on the defendant’s actions (actus reus) and require proof of engaging in certain prohibited conduct, rather than focusing on the outcome of the defendant’s actions. In contrast, result crimes look at the consequences of the defendant’s actions and require proof of a specific outcome or harm resulting from those actions.
